Augsburg's form is a deep contrast from Bayern's. They have lost three, drawn two, and won two of their previous seven games. Their worst defeat was the 4-0 loss to RB Leipzig, where they had seven shots and created only one big chance.

Josip Stanisic has been out since August due to a torn lateral knee ligament. Joao Palhinha has been out with a groin problem since the international break and is expected to return late in December.
Bayern will also be without Hiroki Ito and Aleksandar Pavlovic as both defenders have been injured for over a month.

Augsburg will be without their attacking midfielder Frederick Jensen. Though he is back from rehab, Thorup said it will take some time to settle in. Likewise, Reece Oxford is a doubt due to fitness issues.
