In a live television appearance, Jürgen Klopp addressed the intense speculation linking him to the vacant Real Madrid job following the dismissal of Xabi Alonso.

Appearing as a pundit on ServusTV On, the former Liverpool manager confirmed that while his phone has been "ringing" since news of the vacancy broke, the calls have not originated from the Spanish capital.

Klopp’s Reaction: "Something Isn't Right"

Klopp admitted to being "genuinely surprised" by the speed of the decision to part ways with Alonso, who was relieved of his duties just seven months into his tenure. When asked directly if Florentino Pérez or any Real Madrid representatives had been in touch, Klopp clarified that while various people had messaged him about the opening, to which he responded with various emojis, he has received no official contact from the club itself.

The German tactician, currently serving as the Head of Global Soccer for Red Bull, offered a sharp critique of the situation at the Bernabéu. He suggested that forcing out a talent like Alonso, who demonstrated immense coaching ability over the last two years at Bayer Leverkusen, is a sign that "something isn't quite right" at the club.

Klopp noted that the modern game lacks patience and that the expectations at Real Madrid are "enormous," particularly when a major decision is made in the heat of the moment following a cup final loss to rivals Barcelona.

Status of the Managerial Role

Despite the external noise surrounding Klopp, Real Madrid moved decisively on Monday evening to appoint Álvaro Arbeloa as the new head coach. Arbeloa, who previously led Real Madrid Castilla, was officially presented today and revealed that he had already spoken with Alonso to maintain their long-standing friendship during the transition.

Key elements of the current coaching situation include Álvaro Arbeloa taking charge immediately to lead the team in Wednesday's Copa del Rey clash against Albacete. Meanwhile, Klopp has reiterated that he has "absolutely no desire" to return to the dugout at this time, citing his deep commitment to his strategic role with the Red Bull project.

Reports from Sky Germany suggest that while the Madrid hierarchy holds Klopp in high regard, the club is currently fully supporting Arbeloa as a potential long-term solution rather than a mere temporary fix.
