Manchester United have reportedly opened talks with RB Leipzig for Slovenia international Benjamin Sesko.

United are intensifying their pursuit of a striker and have sent a delegation to Germany to meet with Leipzig officials.

According to reports, the move for Sesko is being handled by the club's director of recruitment, Christopher Vivell, who used to work for the Red Bull group across both Salzburg and Leipzig.

United, meanwhile, are facing a bit of rivalry from Newcastle United, who are also eyeing Sesko as a replacement for want-away forward Alexander Isak. The Red Devils have also begun discussions with the player's camp, with reports suggesting that the Slovenian is open to a move to Old Trafford this summer.

Leipzig value Sesko as high as €80 million, but both United and Newcastle believe a deal could be struck at €70 million or a little less. Ruben Amorim's side also have Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins on their wishlist and could move for the Englishman should a move for Sesko fail to materialise.

Sesko joined Leipzig in 2023 from sister-club Salzburg and has scored 39 goals in 87 appearances for the German club, including netting 21 times in all competitions last season.
