Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly enraged with Juventus director Damien Comolli after the collapse of their deal for Randal Kolo Muani, which ultimately opened the door for Tottenham’s late swoop on deadline day.

PSG and Juventus had agreed on a season-long loan with a €30 million option to buy, plus an additional €10 million in bonuses tied to Champions League qualification.

Kolo Muani, who scored 10 goals in 22 appearances during his loan spell in Turin last season, was also eager to return, holding out all summer for a move back to Italy.

However, just as the deal was set to be finalised, Comolli allegedly altered the terms of the agreement. PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi considered this a breach of trust, and with talks breaking down, Spurs seized the opportunity to bring in the France international on a season-long loan.

The saga has intensified tensions between PSG and Juventus, with the French champions accusing the Old Lady of “changing the rules of the game”. Juventus, meanwhile, turned to the market and secured Lois Openda on an initial €3.3m loan, with an obligation to buy for €40.6m.

Instead of a reunion in Turin, Kolo Muani begins a new chapter in north London, while the rift between PSG and Juventus continues to fester. The 25-year-old is expected to make his Tottenham debut on 13 September away to West Ham United.
